Alabama Governor's Race: Baxley Shoots Barbs at Siegelman
Lt. Gov. Lucy Baxley used a speech to state workers to take aim at her Democratic opponent for governor, according to the Associated Press.
Speaking to the annual convention of the Alabama State Employees Association, Baxley said, "I'm proud to say there's never been a hint of scandal with any office I've held and there will be no hint of scandal in any office I hold.""Unlike my opponent in the primary, I don't expect to be indicted," she said Thursday,
Former Gov. Don Siegelman responded by calling Baxley's remarks disappointing and misleading.
"It looks like the political season has begun," he said.
